Missed last night's Zac Posen party? Footage of it may show up on MTV soon.

MTV's The City's cameras were in full force at Zac Posen's Target 24-hour party at the New Yorker, where they followed Elle's Joe Zee and Olivia Palermo. At one point, Palermo and Posen sprinted off suddenly, followed by the amusing sight of full grown men carrying heavy gear scattering after them. Palermo, wielding an Elle.com microphone, interviewed the designer -- a scene also filmed for the show. The whole "TV show taping fashionable media girls as they create content" could tempt some to reach for a Marshall McLuhan reference.

Even journalists can be caught up in MTV's limelight. Walking behind Palermo prompted a shoulder tap and a release form pushed at us. The cameras didn't seem to catch our chat with Palermo, whom we asked about "The City's" new season, premiering April 27. The trailer suggested a lot of fireworks to come.

"I think our producers know and love drama, and we'll continue to see that," Palermo said. "It's for entertainment value. You'll see me working with Elle.com and interviewing designers."

Elle creative director and Twitter star Joe Zee said the Posen line would be featured in Elle magazine, in part due to the launch party's ambience, which featured a ceiling festooned in pink and silver balloons and draped silver beads, guests in masquerade masks and endless strawberry-pink cocktails.

"I looked up at the ceiling and was like, look at all the beads and the balloons!" he said, pausing mid-sentence to accept a kiss from Real Housewife Kelly Bensimon. "I looked over the balcony, and thought I want to take a picture of it for Twitter." (Zee did tweet a photo, taken by model Coco Rocha.)
